Housing in Northern Ireland is not just about building and maintaining homes, it's about making a difference to the communities in which we live and work and supporting the people who live there.
A large part of our life is spent at work and it is important that we enjoy it. Most of us would like a career that is challenging and satisfying and gives us the chance to work with a wide variety of people.
A job in housing can offer all this and more. It provides the opportunity to develop and learn new skills and makes people feel that they are doing something that makes a difference.
There are opportunities for school leavers, graduates, people returning to work and people looking for a career change. Jobs in housing suit those who like to use their practical skills and others who are more academically inclined.
There are two main providers of social housing in Northern Ireland:
The Northern Ireland Housing Executive and the Registered Housing Associations.
These are controlled by the Department for Social Development who has overall responsibility for social housing policy in Northern Ireland.

There is a wide range of jobs available in housing, from general housing roles to specialist roles in finance or information technology.
