The Sector Skills Council for the places where we live and work

Sector Skills Agreement

Sector Skills Agreement (SSA)

Asset Skills Cymru has signed a Sector Skills Agreement (SSA) which follows on from detailed research with employers in our sectors. We have put together action plans with our partners – Welsh Assembly Government, HEFCW (Higher Education Funding Council for Wales), Careers Wales, Wales TUC and Jobcentre Plus – that will help plug the skills gaps identified by employers.

The Asset Skills Cymru SSA was signed and then launched at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff by the Deputy Minister for Skills, John Griffiths AM, and Deputy First Minister, Ieuan Wyn Jones AM, along with five other SSCs in October 2007 and work is in process to develop and deliver the SSA action plans.

A new updated Sector Skills Assessment was produced in February 2010, which can be viewed here.
