Asset Skills recognises the unique requirements of Wales and we are working proactively to develop products, services, standards and qualifications that meet the needs of Welsh employers.
Since devolution, the agenda in Wales has diverged from that in England and the rest of the UK in various ways and it is critical that employers and employees in the Asset Skills sector in Wales are aware of the differences this can bring.
To help meet the needs of Welsh employers Asset Skills Cymru focuses on:
Asset Skills is working with the Welsh Government as part of its European Funded Sector Priorities Pilot Project on two projects to deliver new skills and training to employers and employees in Wales.
The project will deliver Apprenticeships and Foundation Apprenticeships in facilities services, supported housing, energy advice, parking, pest control local taxation and benefits and cleaning supervisory skills, along with introductory qualifications in energy efficiency. Some of these qualifications are still in development.
More information about this project is available here.

The second will help employers meet skills needs related to the low carbon agenda, with new qualifications available in Domestic Energy Advice and other low carbon skills. These qualifications will help to meet employer needs with regard to Arbed, Fuel Poverty and the forth coming Green Deal.
Employers and training providers are invited to get involved. For more information about the Low Carbon project please click here.
Asset Skills has been successful in accessing funding to develop qualifications in management and leadership related to housing.
