Asset Skills Sector Priority Fund Pilot Projects

New Apprenticeships and Qualifications

Asset Skills is working with the Welsh Government as part of its joint European Funded Sector Priorities Pilot Project to deliver new apprenticeships and qualifications across Wales.

The project aims to deliver Asset Skills new Apprenticeships and NVQs as well as Technical qualifications in property, in a pilot project promoting qualifications to employers and training providers.  As these Asset Skills qualifications are new there is currently no delivery of them in Wales.

The project will encourage employers and training providers in new and innovative ways of delivering training, looking especially at potential employer/training partnerships and an online forum for assessors and students.  All of which will be part of the new Asset Skills Virtual Academy for Business Services.

A total of 230 learner places will be provided through the project which will gauge and inform the Welsh Assembly Government on employer and sector needs post 2011 due to proposed changes in Further Education and Work Based Learning funding provision in Wales.

This project is supported by the Asset Skills Virtual Academy for Business Services. Click here for more about the Academy and how its services can benefit employers and learners.

Low Carbon Skills

Asset Skills is also working with the Welsh Government as part of its joint European Funded Sector Priorities Pilot Project to deliver new qualifications in low carbon skills.

This project will pilot energy advice qualifications tailored for domestic property in Wales and will be based around the ABBE Level 3 Energy Advice (Home) qualification and additional learning on existing WG initiatives, such as the Arbed and Fuel Poverty Schemes.  It also provides a significant amount of learning required to delivery Energy Advice as part of the Green Deal (due to go live in Autumn 2012).

The pilot will offer 75 places, available at subsidised rates for employers.  Asset Skills is recruiting learners and if you are interested in attending please contact pstott@assetskills.org.
