The Sector Skills Council for the places where we live and work
Asset Skills is calling on employers and stakeholders to take part in a new consultation to refresh our Sector Qualifications Strategy (SQS) and Action Plans.
The SQS is a detailed review of vocational qualifications across the footprint. It was approved in September 2008, with four separate Action Plans produced for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The UK Commission for Employment & Skills (UKCES) has now asked SSCs to refresh each plan to ensure its continuing relevance and effectiveness.
We have also selected a priority set of actions from the original strands of activity in light of resource restraints. It is important that we get feedback from key stakeholders on this prioritisation and its impact on the overall programme.
The consultation offers a chance to make a direct contribution to the activities in each Action Plan and will take account of changes to individual skills strategies in each home nation.
