National Occupational Standards (NOS) have been produced as a result of work done by Asset Skills and a wide range of those engaged in the property sector including employers, professional bodies and training providers.
NOS and the qualifications derived from them describe full occupational competence and, as such, they complement but are different from training courses and professional and educational qualifications.
The NOS are for those working at levels 2 and 3.
Level 2 is defined as "the ability to select and use relevant knowledge, ideas, skills and procedures to complete well defined tasks and address straightforward problems. It includes taking responsibility for completing tasks and procedures and exercising autonomy and judgment subject to overall direction or guidance."
Level 3 is defined as "performing a broad range of activities in a variety of contexts, most of which are complex and non-routine. Working with considerable responsibility and autonomy, and may have control and guidance of others". It is frequently associated with supervisory or first line management roles.
At Level 2 the usual number of units for the whole qualification is between 6 and 9 with 2-4 being mandatory and the rest optional, chosen from a list.
At Level 3 the usual number of units for the whole qualification is between 7 and 10 with 3-4 being mandatory and the rest optional, often chosen from an extensive list.
The questionnaire is seeking your views on three issues:
The following questionnaire contains titles of the units and links to more details of each unit which you can view/download below:
