The Sector Skills Council for the places where we live and work

Green Deal Advisor and Energy Assessor Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) Units Survey

Asset Skills has been commissioned by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) to develop National Occupational Standards (NOS) relevant to the functions carried out by the Green Deal Adviser, including remote advice, and to enhance the NOS relating to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and the new Energy Performance Certificate. These NOS are now completed and QCF units have been developed from them which we are now consulting on. We would be grateful if you would complete the questionnaire to enable us to finalise the QCF units which will then form the basis of new and revised QCF qualifications.

There are three discrete sets of QCF units:

Green Deal Advisors covering: the principles, financing and operation of the Green Deal; carrying out Occupancy Assessments; preparing and explaining Domestic and Non-Domestic Green Deal Advice Reports; determining an Operational Profile; and providing advice on energy efficiency measures and reducing energy consumption.

Green Deal Remote Advisors covering: providing information to customers on the principles, financing and operation of the Green Deal; explaining the Domestic and Non-Domestic Green Deal process via the remote advice service including Energy Performance Certificates; and providing remote advice on energy efficiency and sustainability measures.

Domestic and Non Domestic Energy Assessors covering: conducting energy assessments of domestic property and non-dwellings using the Simplified Building Energy and the Dynamic Simulation Models; producing Energy Performance Certificates and Display Energy Certificates; and producing Operational Ratings and Advisory reports.
