Qualifications for Property Professionals case study

Mar 2011

Liz Lewis has worked in property for two years, currently for Williams and Goodwin, The Property People Ltd, in North Wales.

She has recently studied for a Sale of Residential Property qualification, offered by the National Federation of Property Professionals (NFoPP). This is the industry's qualification of choice. Asset Skills, the Sector Skills Council for property, secured funding from the Welsh Assembly Government's Step Up fund to part-subsidise the course and exam costs of property staff who wanted to improve their skills through taking the vocational qualification.

The course helped Liz gain valuable knowledge which in turn increased her confidence within her work. "It was good training, flexible and fitted into my life well," she said.

Liz did not have a background in property. Her previous jobs had been in administration and as a swimming teacher but she did have a keen interest in all aspects of property. The course meant most of the learning could be done from home, which helped Liz continue her day job effectively.
