Public Service Skills Framework

The Public Service Skills Framework (PSSF) is a customer service led programme of learning aimed at support staff working within, or contracted to, the public sector.

It is aimed at workers who are in frequent contact with the public, yet receive no formal training in customer service.

The framework has attracted interest from a range of organisations such as: local authorities, NHS trusts and outsourced facilities companies.

It has been developed around a new Level 2 qualification called Skills for Supporting Public Services (SSPS).

Skills for Supporting Public Services (SSPS)

Skills for Supporting Public Services has been designed to set customer service training within a public sector context.

SSPS, available via the Awarding Organisation NCFE, is now on the Learning Aim Database and is therefore eligible for funding. For more information on SSPS please click here.

PSSF and Getting on at Work

The PSSF incorporates a learning programme developed by unionlearn called Getting on at Work, which offers a flexible mix of bite-sized qualifications at Entry Level 3 and Level 1. It is available FREE of charge and is provided with online learning materials.

Implementation

Since January Asset Skills has hosted several events across the country to launch the PSSF.

These events allowed Asset Skills to develop close working links with Funding Organisations, Learning Providers and Skills Advisers to help Employers implement the framework.

If you are interested in offering the framework or have any questions then please contact: Philip Stott 01392 456 825 or email: pstott@assetskills.org.
