Help us shape vocational qualifications for Energy Assessors and Green Deal Advisors

Dec 2011

If you are an employer in the broad area of energy management and assessment or are interested in becoming a Green Deal Advisor, Asset Skills needs your input to help shape vocational qualifications for the revised Energy Assessment and new Green Deal job roles.

We are consulting on the development of new QCF units which will form revised and new qualifications for Green Deal Energy Advisors and Energy Assessors.

The units are based on brand new occupational standards we produced for the role of Green Deal Energy Advisor, and enhanced standards relating to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD)and the new Energy Performance Certificate.

Asset Skills has been commissioned to carry out this work by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).

We would be grateful if you would complete the questionnaire to enable us to finalise the QCF units which will then form the basis of new and revised QCF qualifications.

There are three discrete sets of QCF units:

Green Deal Advisors covering the principles; financing and operation of the Green Deal; carrying out Occupancy Assessments; preparing and explaining Domestic and Non-Domestic Green Deal Advice Reports; determining an Operational Profile; and providing advice on energy efficiency measures and reducing energy consumption.

Green Deal Remote Advisors covering providing information to customers on the principles, financing and operation of the Green Deal; explaining the Domestic and Non-Domestic Green Deal process via the remote advice service including Energy Performance Certificates; and providing remote advice on energy efficiency and sustainability measures.

Domestic and Non Domestic Energy Assessors covering conducting energy assessments of domestic property and non-dwellings, using the Simplified Building Energy and the Dynamic Simulation Models; producing Energy Performance Certificates and Display Energy Certificates; and producing Operational Ratings and Advisory reports.

Please respond by no later than Friday 6 January 2012. You can find the consultation documents and electronic response form at: http://www.assetskills.org/QualificationsAndStandards/Consultations/GreenDealAdvisorEAConsultation.aspx
