First findings of Barometer survey

Asset Skills calls on more employers to take part

A series of publications has been produced providing intelligence about each Asset Skills sector.

Most of these draw on findings from the Barometer Report, a rolling six monthly survey of employers charting the link between skills investment and business performance.

The Barometer Report is a one page document with the latest information gleaned from employers in each industry. These are available in hard copy and can be viewed here.

The State of the Sector Reports provide an overview of each sector. They are updated every six months and draw on national data as well as the Asset Skills Barometer survey.

The State of the Nation Reports ( England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales) provide information on each sector within Asset Skills in each of the nations. They are updated every six months and draw on national data as well as the Barometer survey.

The Sector Fact Sheets give a factual overview of the sectors within the Asset Skills footprint drawing on a range of official data sources.

Meanwhile, more employers are being urged to take part in the ongoing exercise that seeks to establish solid data on levels of investment in skills and company performance.

There is a continual need to gather intelligence about the sector to inform Asset Skills activities.

The survey covers:

• Business growth objectives
• Current challenges
• Investment in skills and training
• Access to skills and knowledge

All companies taking part in this research will be guaranteed confidentiality. Analysis of the data will be carried out within Asset Skills. All resulting information will be presented in an aggregated format and no individual company will be cited or named.
