The Sector Skills Council for the places where we live and work
While the economic crisis shows no sign of loosening its grip, one area appears to be holding fast.
"Outsourced and Business Services – A UK Success Story", a report by the Business Services Association (BSA), shows a 24% increase in the value of contracts signed in the UK in the first half of 2008 compared to the first half of 2007.
It says the contribution of the outsourced and business services industry to the UK economy as a whole is greater than all other industry sectors in terms of output and number of people employed.
The study claims the support services sector was estimated to be worth more than £303 billion in 2007, with growth of 8% from 2002 - 2006.For more, please email the BSA's Melanie Greenall at Melanie.greenall@bsa-org.com
