Qualifications and Credit Framework update

Following two years of tests and trials the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) has been approved for implementation.

The QCF is the new framework for creating and accrediting qualifications and is at the heart of a major reform of the way vocational qualifications are awarded.

It is intended to make both the system and the qualifications offered far more relevant to the needs of employers and more flexible and accessible for learners.

The new system will also be compatible with qualifications frameworks across Europe, ensuring people who work elsewhere in the EU will be able to build a portfolio of qualifications.
