Management trainee programmes

Housing management trainee programmes are offered by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. These programmes normally last between two and three years, during which time you have to commit to completing further education.

The housing division you work in will determine the course you have to complete. If you are placed directly in housing you will study for the Post Graduate Diploma in Housing, however a placement in personnel would mean you completing an MSc in Human Resource Management.

During the management programme you will normally undergo a four strand development to include:

  • Professional training, ie, linked to an appropriate qualification
  • On the job development, appropriate to the department you are placed in
  • Ongoing training and development within your Divisional Training Programme
  • General development on a range of appropriate knowledge and skills.

Management trainee programmes are advertised in the local and national press and on the Northern Ireland Housing Executive website.
