Assessing the impact of apprenticeships, qualifications and training in housing

Demonstrating the benefits of investing in learning is increasingly important in a sector facing budgetary pressure from all directions. Working with a range of employers, learning providers and experts, this project will provide employers with the tools they need to help make investment decisions. If you are interested in getting involved in the project please contacts chinton@assetskills.org for further information.

Competency Framework for the Housing Sector

Working with Hays Social Housing and a number of key employers Asset Skills has developed a Competency Framework that highlights the generic skills needed for housing management roles within the industry.

The aim of this competency framework is to outline the general skills and competencies required by employees in the housing sector, rather than focussing on technical knowledge and experience. This type of framework enables employers to focus on developing personal skills as well as providing housing specific training either in-house or through an external provider as part of an employees induction and personal development plan. Download a copy of the Competency Framework Document.
