Green Deal Advisor "Go Early" Training DECCLogoApril12

Asset Skills has been allocated £1M by DECC to "kick start" Green Deal by ensuring that a cohort of up to 1000 Green Deal Advisors are trained and qualified over the next few months across Great Britain. At the same time this is helping to build adequate learning provider capacity.

The majority of the funding is being allocated on a regional basis, where the learning providers below have been appointed, following a competitive tendering process.  Please note all funding has now been allocated.

This "go early" project is not the only means of gaining the Green Deal Advisor qualification and there are many high quality training providers offering the Green Deal Advice course across Great Britain.

  • Had explicit marking criteria, downloadable here.
  • Culminated in a full day six person marking panel (which included three government officials and three officers from Asset Skills) which scored bids and lead to decisions on which providers to appoint.

UKAcademyLogoThe Asset Skills UK Academy is currently exploring other funding opportunities with it's registered providers to deliver this training course. If you would like to be kept informed about the availability of any additional funding please email ukacademy@assetskills.org or call 0844 822 2525.

If you are looking to do the training, without funding, we suggest that you:

  • Contact City & Guilds, ABBE, EDI, BPEC and SQA (all Awarding Bodies) as they will be able to inform you of any training providers within your region that offer the course.
  • Shop around, it is an incredibly competitive market with many national training providers offering the course - we would suggest that a new entrant could be around the £1,000 - £2,000 mark.
  • Ensure that the awarding body fees are clearly stated.
  • Ensure you get the support you need, the course will be delivered in a variety of ways and you must make sure you get the tutor contact time you need.
  • Make sure that you are confident of making back the cost of the training. Consider your business plan, routes to market etc.
