Domestic Energy Assessor Upskilling Learning Material

Introduction

By April 2012 all Domestic Energy Assessors within England and Wales will be required to undertake additional training in order to produce the new Energy Performance Certificate in domestic property.
This additional training will include technical elements as well as improved customer service and cover all aspects of the brand new QCF "top up" unit which forms the basis of the short mandatory multiple choice test.

Asset Skills has developed a comprehensive, high quality, learning material package aimed at existing Domestic Energy Assessors (DEA) in line with the new EPC requirements. The availability of the material will ensure that learners can begin training as soon as possible before April 2012.

The Asset Skills Domestic Energy Assessor Pack

  • Material to support guided learning and distance learning totalling 8 hours.
  • Quizzes and informal assessment to prepare the learner for the online assessment.
  • High quality electronic materials for easy upload to Moodle, Blackboard etc.
  • PowerPoint presentations and documents on technology changes, background policy etc.
  • Material is easily transferable into existing DEA courses to bring them up to date following October 2012.

Background data

  • New EPC required as part of Green Deal Energy Advice.
  • 8 hours of learning - this can be claimed as CPD but must be in addition to the annual DEA requirement of 10 hours.
