Luke Gilbert - FM Apprentice, the Petchey Academy, London
Luke Gilbert, 21, is a facilities management apprentice at the Petchey Academy, one of the government's flagship academy schools.
"Since starting my job in FM, my aim has been to work my way up from the bottom so that one day I can be a facilities manager. I've got the experience in an education setting but I'd like to work anywhere in the facilities world."

Rishi Joshi, FM Apprentice, John Laing Integrated Services
Rishi Joshi, 23, is taking the Facilities Management Apprenticeship while working for for John Laing Integrated Services in West London. His job involves managing public facilities and buildings in the borough of Hounslow.
He recently met Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg during a visit to south London. The Government was promoting a scheme to ensure 1,000 new 'green' apprenticeships as part of its new Green Deal policy. Rishi's job in FM plays an important role in creating a low carbon environment through the efficient management of buildings.

Jordan Clarke, FM Apprentice, Redbridge Council
Jordan Clarke, 18, is taking the Facilities Management Apprenticeship while working for Redbridge Council. He had no previous experience in FM and sees the apprenticeship as a way of fast-tracking him up the skills ladder.
"There aren't many young people in FM and none of my friends know what it is. I think this programme will change that and make it a younger industry. There is plenty of potential here for me."

Rachel Nyquist, General Services Manager, Eurest Services
Rachel Nyquist, 48, enrolled onto the Facilities Management Apprenticeship as part of her professional development. She moved into FM after 28 years in catering with Eurest Services, the workplace support services arm of Compass Group UK & Ireland.
She is now General Services Manager for Eurest and manages services like catering, cleaning, porterage, reception, switchboard, security, office supplies and support, post and pest control.
"The Apprenticeship has been an excellent learning experience and my employer now has a highly qualified and valued team of people who are a real asset as the FM side of the business continues to expand."

Alex Maitland, Executive Chef Manager, Eurest Services
Alex Maitland, 36, took the Facilities Management Apprenticeship to further his career in service management. He completed it in four months.
He is Executive Chef Manager at Eurest Services, the workplace support services arm of Compass Group UK & Ireland, and helps look after the catering and hospitality as well as general building support services.
"FM seemed an obvious next step for me. Lots of people are moving into it as companies try to streamline their services and bring them under one provider. Everything I've been taught on the apprenticeship I've been able to put into practice in my job."
