Asset Skills launched the pilot Virtual Academy for Business Services at the Facilities Show in May 2010.
Asset Skills Director of UK Operations Steven Proudfoot and Facilities Management Specialist Karen Waterlow launched the Academy in presentations and speaker slots.
Awareness was also raised through social networking sites LinkedIn, YouTube and Twitter - and a trade and professional partner press campaign.
Having already received significant support from a number of facilities management employers, we are always keen to hear from more to to continue to ensure the success of the pilot so far.
The Virtual Academy pilot offers practical assistance to employers on training issues, acting as the intermediary between business and training. Its virtual nature relates to the use of existing structures and technology, which have helped avoid big overheads.
