Asset Skills is launching its new UK Academy for Business Services Scotland which aims to offer practical assistance to employers on training and skills issues.
It follows the successful first year of the UK Academy for Business Services in England, and the recent launches of our UK Academies in Property and in Housing.
The UK Academy for Business Services offers employers in facilities management and cleaning practical help on training issues, acting as the broker between business and training provider.
We are in a period of change in many areas relating to learning and skills. But the Scottish Government's priorities are clear: job creation, especially for young people; the delivery of Apprenticeship programmes; better utilisation of skills in the workplace and an emphasis on the key economic sectors, in particular, the emerging low carbon agenda.
The UK Academy for Business Services Scotland will promote take up of the new Apprenticeships in Facilities Services and Facilities Management and will help simplify the process of staff training through proactive account management services.
