The UK Academy will work to strengthen higher education provision through direct liaison with universities, professional bodies and employers and will identify opportunities to develop graduate work placement schemes. A twice-yearly forum has been taking place since September 2009 which enables HE providers, professional bodies and employers to share experience and establish productive partnerships.
The academy will promote career pathways into property at careers fairs, conferences and through direct contact with schools. It will also work, where possible, in partnership with professional bodies to promote wider access to membership, greater recognition of National Occupational Standards and nationally accredited qualifications.
The academy aims to identify areas of good practice with regard to work experience placements, whether short or long-term. Case studies will be produced together with a business case for employers to take part in student work experience placements.
The academy will provide listings of higher education careers events which will be available to employers and in the longer term look into the feasibility of developing a database of work experience placements.
