In 2010, the UK Academy worked with a national group of providers to launch the new Facilities Management Apprenticeship.

Events were held at the following FE Colleges to promote the qualification to employers and support pilots of the new qualification:
London - Westminster Kingsway North West - The Manchester College North East - Newcastle College Yorkshire & Humber - Leeds College of Building Eastern - Cambridge Regional College
The UK Academy will continue to support pilots of new accredited qualifications and unaccredited programmes in the Business Services Sector where there are gaps in provision:
• Recruit employers to programme using existing employer contacts/newsletters/trade and regional press
• Recruit assessors using above media
• Develop a single page offer sheet for employers/candidates
• Approach stakeholders for potential funding support
• Provide assessor forum
• Provide student forum
• Organisational needs analysis and training needs analysis undertaken with trained UK Academy staff with sector knowledge
• Support the delivery of new qualifications
