Apprenticeship in Facilities Management - real solutions for a growing industry

The Apprenticeship in Facilities Management is a new training programme that will help lift skills and improve performance across the industry.

It is the first of its kind in FM and has huge potential for this growing sector. It was developed by Asset Skills in partnership with employers and will play an essential role in developing the highly skilled workforce needed for an early and lasting recovery from challenging economic conditions.

The level 3 Apprenticeship in Facilities Management is being rolled out across England through the Asset Skills Virtual Academy with a network of leading training providers.

The most recent event took place at the Cambridge Regional College on 23 February.  It was a free event and offered a chance to learn about how the college will deliver the training, other qualifications available in FM and about possible funding.

Business benefits

As well as nurturing talent among the existing facilities management workforce the apprenticeship offers a career pathway into the industry and raises the profile of FM as a career of first choice.

It will enable the FM workforce to extend their skills and knowledge at a time when every employee's contribution is crucial to enabling businesses to do more with less.
