The UK Academy

We are pleased to announce that the UK Academy for Business Services created by Asset Skills, the Sector Skills Council for facilities management, housing, property, planning, cleaning and parking, is extending its remit in 2011. The pilot programme that began in May 2010 has been welcomed by the employers in the sector it was designed to serve and we are now widening the scope of our work by launching similar academies for property services and for housing.

The menu on the left of this page will provide access to the prospectus for each sector; further details will be added to these pages as the work of the academies gets underway.
 
The academy model for each sector has been developed to offer employers practical support in the delivery of training and qualifications with the aim of raising skills levels. It acts as a link between employers and training providers, recruiting candidates to programmes, piloting new schemes and accessing available funding to support trainees.
 
The UK Academy is a standalone model developed by Asset Skills and employers without recourse to public funding.

Membership fees for each academy have been set at a modest level to encourage a high level of take up. We urge potential new members to get in touch to find out how we can help you navigate the often complex worlds of training, education and funding.
 
In this challenging economic climate it is more important than ever that employers work together to reap the benefits of collaboration through joint initiatives and economies of scale.
