Job Title: Head of Standards and Qualifications
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Location: Northampton based but with extensive UK travel
Closing Date: 4pm on Thursday 11 February 2010

Asset Skills is seeking a Head of Standards and Qualifications to lead a team of four Skills Development Managers and an Administrator to take forward Asset Skills' extensive programme of standards development, qualifications reform, apprenticeship redevelopment and higher level skills.

We are looking for a versatile individual with excellent project and team management skills and a thorough grounding in standards and qualifications development.

You will be a committed team player capable of managing the performance of others, preparing costed project bids and a proven track record of delivering outcomes to schedule and on budget. Experience of national occupational standards (NOS) development and accreditation of qualifications is essential including a full working knowledge of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)and its requirements.

You must be able to develop and implement programmes of reform which will ensure that Asset Skills develops a comprehensive suite of qualifications which meet the needs of employers, are fit for purpose and are accredited on the national qualifications frameworks. The capacity to manage internal teams and external consultants is a prerequisite of the job.

Excellent planning, project management and communication skills are essential to fulfil this demanding role.
